U.S. recession linked to more abortions, vasectomies
November 26, 2007.

NEW YORK (Reuters)
– The pregnancy was unexpected, and for one 32-year-old single mother in Syracuse, New York, the ailing economy became a factor in her decision to have an abortion.
"More so now that we are in a recession ... I felt I had to go through with the procedure because I cannot afford another child," said the woman, a registered nurse who spoke on condition of anonymity because she was worried about job security.
"People say, 'You're a nurse, you'll always have a job.' I think it's not as true as people think it is."
The recession may be a factor influencing more Americans to opt out of parenthood with abortions and vasectomies, although there is no data available yet to suggest a trend
Even so, there is some anecdotal evidence that would-be parents are factoring the rough economic times into the most personal of reproductive choices, some experts said.
In 2005, the last year for which data is available, the U.S. abortion rate fell to the lowest level since 1974, according to the Guttmacher Institute in New York, a nonprofit group focusing on reproductive issues.
But at the National Abortion Federation, a hotline for women seeking abortion information has been "ringing off the hook," according to the group's president, Vicki Saporta....rest here - http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090422/hl_nm/us_usa_economy_births

Fertility expert: 'I can clone a human being'
Controversial doctor filmed creating embryos before injecting them into wombs of women wanting cloned babies

Cady, died aged 10 in a car crash in the US. Her blood cells were frozen and sent to Dr Zavos, who fused them with cow eggs to create cloned human animal hybrid embryos
A controversial fertility doctor claimed yesterday to have cloned 14 human embryos and transferred 11 of them into the wombs of four women who had been prepared to give birth to cloned babies.
The cloning was recorded by an independent documentary film-maker who has testified to The Independent that the cloning had taken place and that the women were genuinely hoping to become pregnant with the first cloned embryos specifically created for the purposes of human reproduction.

OBAMA: THE FIRST 50 DAYS
By Father Alphonse de Valk(Republished with permission from the April 2009 edition of Catholic Insight magazine)
Introductory Note
Catholic Insight has traced the first 50 days of Barack Obama's presidency, with regard to both policies and appointments.
Obama has appointed one vice-president, 13 secretaries, four directors, five legal counsels and 13 White House staff for a total of 36 people. Of these, 23 are known to be pro-abortion. Of the remaining 13, only one is known to be pro-life (the secretary of transportation); the views of the others are unknown to us.
Of the White House staff, none are known to be pro-life.In addition, the vice-president, five secretaries and one director (that of the CIA) are Catholics. All of them, however, disown the Church's teaching on the dignity and protection of all human life, from conception to natural death. We would appreciate receiving notices of any documentable errors and omissions in this tabulation, so that it may be corrected as need be.
The Anti-Life Assault Begins
The election of Barack Obama as president, Catholic Insight stated in a November 3, 2008 press release, would turn out to be a disaster for the advance of a pro-life culture.
On the most important cultural issue of all, the equality and dignity of all human beings before God, he represents the greatest threat today, even more so than the notorious Marxist revolution of 1917 with its attack on the family.
That revolution was rejected by the Western world. On the other hand, Obama's leadership is being hailed as a sign of hope across the world and welcomed with open arms.
Obama has a 100 per cent approval rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America, the U.S.'s leading pro-abortion organization. That rating is based on a record of consistently voting against the unborn....read the rest of the article here - http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2009/apr/09040114.html

We Are at War!
"We are at War!": Bishop Finn Delivers Rousing Clarion Call to the "Fight for Life" in America
By Kathleen Gilbert
OVERLAND PARK, Kansas, April 21, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Bishop Robert Finn of the diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph issued a powerful call to action to pro-lifers at the 2009 Gospel of Life Convention on Saturday. In his speech, Finn heavily criticized pro-abortion Catholic politicians who claim a "personal opposition" to abortion, stating that such persons are "warriors of death" who "have abandoned their place in the citizenship of the Church."
"As I speak a word of encouragement today I also want to tell you soberly, dear friends, 'We are at war!'" began Finn, who said that today's issues bring "an intensity and urgency to our efforts that may rival any time in the past."
The bishop warned that an empty version of the rhetoric of "tolerance" can come from people of all backgrounds, including Christians and Catholics: "The 'battle between believers,' who claim a certain 'common ground' with us, while at the same time, they attack the most fundamental tenets of the Church's teachings, or disavow the natural law - this opposition is one of the most discouraging, confusing, and dangerous," he said....read the whole article here - http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2009/apr/09042113.html

Safe and Legal?
Here's another account of how "safe and legal" abortion are NOT SAFE. First of all we know that they are NEVER safe for the unborn child who is ripped limb from limb from his mother's womb. But setting that Truth aside for the time being, it is not a safe procedure for the mother.
Rose Bent, Alesha's mother called the Marie Stopes helpline three days after the abortion, telling a nurse that Alesha was suffering stomach cramps and heavy bleeding. The nurse recommended Ibuprofen. Five days after the abortion, Alesha's symptoms worsened and she died from a heart attack in the car on the way to the hospital.
Despite the claims of the abortion lobby that legal abortion has answered the problem of the "thousands" or "tens of thousands" of women dying from "illegal back-alley abortions," researchers have found that legal abortions rank as the fifth leading cause of maternal death in the United States. In 1972, the year before abortion was legalised in the US, the Centers for Disease Control reported 39 abortion related deaths.
A recent study of pregnancy-associated deaths in Finland has shown that the risk of dying within a year after an abortion is several times higher than the risk of dying after miscarriage or childbirth. The statistical analysis unit of Finland's National Research and Development Center for Welfare and Health found that women who obtained abortions were 76 percent more likely to die in the following year than non-pregnant women. The research found that of 281 women who had died within a year of their last pregnancy between 1987 and 1994, 27 died after giving birth, 48 after having had miscarriages or ectopic pregnancies, and 101 after having had abortions.

The Contradictions So Extreme They're Almost Funny
Hillary Clinton visited Mexico recently and while she was blaming the US for the border trouble, she decided to take a side trip to the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The contradictions are so blatant, so ridiculous that they are almost funny! If I didn't laugh about how far we've come in being completely spiritually blinded as a nation, I'd be balled up in a dark corner of my house from despair!
Msgr. Monroy took Mrs. Clinton to the famous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which had been previously lowered from its usual altar for the occasion.
After observing it for a while, Mrs. Clinton asked “who painted it?” to which Msgr. Monroy responded “God!”
Clinton then told Msgr. Monroy that she had previously visited the old Basilica in 1979, when the new one was still under construction.
After placing a bouquet of white flowers by the image, Mrs. Clinton went to the quemador –the open air area at the Basilica where the faithful light candles- and lit a green candle.
Leaving the basilica half an hour later, Mrs. Clinton told some of the Mexicans gathered outside to greet her, “you have a marvelous virgin!”
This evening Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is set to receive the highest award given by Planned Parenthood Federation of America -- the Margaret Sanger Award, named for the organization's founder, a noted eugenicist. The award will be presented at a gala event in Houston, Texas.
